About SUWC

SUWC (Sustainable Use for Wildlife Conservation) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that aims to emphasise, strengthen, support and further educate the importance of science-led, community based, sustainable utilisation of wildlife resources for ‘biodiversity net gain’ conservation.

Objectives

  • emphasise, strengthen and further educate the importance of science-led, community based, sustainable utilisation of wildlife resources for ‘biodiversity net gain’ conservation.

  • advocate and practice the utilisation of environmentally friendly, sustainably harvested wildlife resources (meat, horn/antler, skin/fur, bone…) through controlled ethical “conservation hunting” and NOT by or through “trophy hunting”.

  • actively collaborate and financially contributing to the initiation and continuation of sustainable wildlife management programmes through encouraging eco-friendly, low-impact, ethical harvesting tourism.

How we aim to achieve the Objectives

  • correlating and publicising, credible scientific and educational articles, videos and podcasts on the sustainable use of wildlife, in order to eliminate untrue and misinformation on hunting as a sustainable use, wildlife conservation tool.

  • actively inform and provide, social and investigative journalists, with correct and accurate information about sustainable use conservation hunting.

  • physically supporting grass roots enterprise projects, that adhere to the three dimensions of sustainability, 1 by actively marketing, participating in, and hosting hands-on conservation hunting and eco-tourism itineraries.

  • financially contributing to sustainable wildlife management enterprises through fund-raising events, tourism itinerary endowments, product sales and direct donations.
